Hi Reddit! I do research on plant genes to understand how modern biotechnology tools can be used for plant breeding to improve yields, make more nutritious food, and to reduce the environmental impacts of farming. I also conduct GMO risk assessments for the European Food Safety Authority. I think it's really important for scientists to talk about their science with non-scientists because what we do matters to everyone and the environment. I will be back at 11am EDT (4 pm GMT, 8 am PST) to answer all your questions. Reddit, AMA!
