Scientists found a new species of tyrannosaur from the American Southwest that stood just 3 feet tall at the hip. The T. rex ancestor fills a fossil gap that may help explain how the group evolved from relatively tiny predators (under 200 lbs) into one of the biggest meat eaters ever to walk Earth.
