Hello, Reddit! I’m Steven Munger and thank you for having me back again to answer more questions. I’m joined by my colleague Duncan Boak who is founder of Fifth Sense, a charity that raises awareness of smell and taste disorders like anosmia — the loss of the sense of smell.

A little information on me: I study odors and tastes at the University of Florida’s Center for Smell and Taste. (Go Gators!)

I did an AMA last year on the same subject and it was a lot of fun:

A little information on Duncan: he lost his sense of smell from a head injury in 2005. It wasn’t until late 2011, however, that he had the idea to set up his charity Fifth Sense after learning that his condition was not as rare as he had previously thought.

We will be back at 1 pm ET (11 am PT, 5 pm GMT) to answer your questions, ask us anything!
